How to realise secure screw-connections?

We differentiate between the following cases:

Unsecured connections:
This method is not modified in any way, the connection can fail at all times, this shouldn´t be used, if loosening raises the danger for the fitted parts and/or life.

Security by using special forms of the connective elements:
As an example for it we know split-pins, security-wires, special-formed plates and many more. These methods may work fine, if the only reason for them is prevention against loss, but if you want more constructive security, this method will not work.

Security with higher traction between the elements:
Higher force to loosen is the principle of this method, it works in most cases fine. As an example we know bonding or special nuts with plastic-components. In some cases, e.g. high temperatures or use in chemical environment, this method may fail.

Combination of both methods:
This may work better, for example you can use toothed washers, Nuts with steelplates or deformed threads. The handicap is, you can´t control exactly the torque, in some cases might a correct torque be only suggested, danger of loosening is higher.

Other methods:
Using two nuts has no effect, because after oosening the first of them, the other won´t wait long time to do the same. Harshening the threads looses its effect while fitting, in some cases danger of seizing is high, controlled screwing is impossible.
